Paul and Ruth are both originally from the Middletown area in Pennsylvania, but are now ministering to the inmates of several jails in Colorado.  Prisons can be dark and unpleasant, for evil abounds and Satan is very active, but the light of Jesus can penetrate even the darkest places when God’s Word is presented and received into the hearts of men and women.  This is the ultimate aim of Paul and Ruth when they hold services, conduct Bible studies, and minister one-on-one with inmates at Pueblo County Jail and Fremont County Jail in Canon City, where Paul is the volunteer Chaplain.  Ruth often helps counsel the female inmates.  After a day’s labor in this ministry, which is often discouraging, Paul enjoys playing the guitar and harmonica.

When a prisoner has completed his sentence at Canon City, he is released and given $100, a suit of clothes, and a bus ticket.  Thanks to God’s matchless grace and the labors of Paul and Ruth, some prisoners leave with the promise of a home in eternity with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
