We believe that every believer has a primary God-given responsibility to go forth and tell all of the saving grace of God found in Jesus Christ.  This we do by going ourselves and sending forth others to every part of the world to tell of God's love gift for them. (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:8)

Evangelistic

Fundamental

We believe in declaring and defending the fundamentals of the faith.  We believe that we are commanded to "earnestly contend for the faith" (Jude 3) and that this will always involve separation from those who are deviating from the clear stand on the gospel and the related doctrines of the Word of God.  We also believe that we are commanded to separate from disobedient brethren who, after all efforts of reconciliation are past, refuse to align their belief or behavior with the Word of God.  God's Word is clear on these matters. (Romans16:17; I  Corinthians 5:11-13; II Corinthians 6:14-18; Ephesians 5:11;  II Thessalonians 3:14-15; Titus 3:10-11)

It Is Now Up to You to Act.

And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. (Acts 16:31) Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: (Isa 55:6) Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation. (2 Cor 6:2)

Jesus Has Already Provision for Your Salvation.

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. (John 3:3) For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God; (Rom 3:23) For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not. (Eccl 7:20)

You Cannot Save Yourself.

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Spirit; (Titus 3:5) There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. (Prov 14:12)

You Need to be Saved.

(Eccl 7:20)

Our Distinctives

We believe in the autonomy or independence of the local church.  We believe that each body of believers ought to answer only to the head of the church, who is Christ.  We do not owe allegiance to any denominational or national body which might cause us to compromise our faith or practice. (Ephesians 1:22; 5:23; Colossians 1:18)
A small group of believers gathered on Sunday, June 22,1980, for worship at the home of Ben and Martha Viselli. They held their first organizational meeting on Sunday, July 13, 1980, where they discussed their future. Revelation 3:8 was chosen as their theme verse: "I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door..." Thus, this new group of believers became the Open Door Bible Church and were so incorporated on July 19, 1980.   They continued to meet in the Viselli's home until space was located and renovated in Highspire, PA on the second floor above the Handy Market. They met there from October of 1981 until October of 1992, when the present building in Middletown was completed. Dedication of the present facility occurred on November 1, 1992.
