About Our Pastor
Pastor Jonathan E. Tillman has served the Lord at Open Door since February of 1987.
He graduated from Bob Jones University with a Masters Degree in Pastoral Studies in 1982. One of the most valuable lessons he learned during his studies at BJU was a love for the Word of God and its power to change lives.
Married in 1985, Pastor and his wife, Julie, have five children; Joanna, Joseph, Jessica, Jillian, and Jennifer. He finds the most challenging aspect of parenting to be the desire to balance time spent at home and in the ministry and says the words his children hear most from him are "Let's try to do this right!"
Pastor Tillman also serves on the board of the International Partnership Ministries in Hanover, PA. When free time is available, he enjoys playing golf and gardening.
Pastor Tillman believes the key to positive growth and development in the life of a believer is to keep your eyes fixed firmly on the goal of growing and changing and becoming more like Jesus Christ.
His motto is "Keep on keeping on for the Lord until He calls us home!" and his life verse is Psalm 34:3, "O magnify the Lord with me and let us exalt His name together."
